Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland - Sponsored Business Visitor (Short Stay) Visa - 459

Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has partnered with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as a sponsor for short stay business visitors to Queensland*.

Essentially, this service is designed to streamline short stay business visitor visa applications with applications processed within approximately 3 to 5 working days.

Who can apply?

This service is available to local Queensland companies (members and non members) seeking to invite business representatives from abroad, as well as foreign business visitors wishing to visit Queensland for a period of up to three months.

Visitors wishing to visit Queensland for business purposes are able to contact CCIQ to assist in obtaining a sponsored business visitor visa (short stay).

Potential applicants wishing to use this service will be considered based on the following criteria:

  • Satisfy DIAC's requirements under subclass 459 (see form 1238 (PDF)).
  • Can demonstrate a genuine reason for travelling to Australia for business purposes.
  • Completed application forms and lodgement of administration and processing fees.
  • In all cases a bond is required to be lodged.

Applicants wishing to visit Australia for the following purposes need only apply for visa 459:

  • study tour
  • conferences
  • trade exhibitions
  • exploration of trade and investment opportunities.

How much will this visa cost?

This service is subject to the following processing and lodgement fee and is payable to Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland upon lodgement of application:

  • Member: $895.00 inc GST
  • Standard: $1,295.00 inc GST

This fee is payable on lodgement of form 1238 and does not guarantee applicants with a visa. Application is subject to bond at the discretion of CCIQ, as well as all DIAC checks where appropriate. Discounts for group processing (5 or more applications) will be considered at the discretion of CCIQ.
