Workforce Development Strategies

Queensland's labour market faces a number of challenges that include an ageing population, difficulties attracting new entrants into traditional trades, and broad-based labour and skills shortages. These skills shortages are constraining output and putting upward pressure on inflation and interest rates.

It is vital that we face these challenges by focusing on and investing in skills and knowledge development. Help attract, develop and retain valuable staff by offering training in relevant skills, a clear career path and a nationally recognised qualification. Government funded training and employer incentives may also be available.
