Business & Water

Water supply and infrastructure is a critical issue across South East Queensland. As reserves continue to decline the business community is playing it's part to avoid the looming water Armageddon in the region. Business knows it's not just about saving water, being water-efficient can also reduce costs.

Whilst Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland is advocating on your behalf to address the practicalities and technicalities of proposed restriction levels with the Queensland Water Commission, our team of business efficiency solutions team is also hard at work helping business through the process.

Business Water Efficiency Program (BWEP)

Businesses using more than 1,000,000 litres or 1,000 kilo litres or a mega litre (ML) of town water during 2005-06 are eligible to apply for funding under the State Government's Business Water Efficiency Program (BWEP). The BWEP allows a business to access rebates and/or subsidies of up to 50 per cent to improve water management practices and to reduce consumption.

Water-saving case studies
