The six steps to ecoBiz

By following the six steps to ecoBiz, your business can become more efficient and more profitable through smarter resource management. Your ecoBiz toolbox sets out clearly what you need to do at each step as well as providing helpful reference materials.

Step 1 - Join. Complete the ecoBiz application form.

Step 2 - Assess. Complete the baseline assessment to determine your resource consumption.

Step 3 - Survey. Conduct a site survey of your business using the ecoBiz tools.

Step 4 - Plan. Develop an ecoBiz action plan that sets out how you are going to make your business more eco-efficient.

Step 5 - Implement. Start implementing your ecoBiz action plan. This may simply mean a new way of doing things, or it may require changing a process or investing in new technology.

Step 6 - Re-assess. Review your progress by completing a re-assessment which you can then compare with your baseline assessment. You may now be eligible to become an ecoBiz partner.

Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland - Your ecoBiz Facilitator

ecoBiz Facilitators retain core competencies in sustainable business practices. The EPA issues formal certification of ecoBiz Facilitator status to applicants who demonstrate that they have suitable competencies to assist participants. Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland, as a Facilitator, has received training that enables us to identify what activities a participant will need to undertake in order to progress through the six ecoBiz steps.

Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland can be engaged to assist with any or all of the ecoBiz steps. This service is available to members and non-members with members receiving a 20% discount.

Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland teamed up with the Gold Coast's premier cabaret restaurant to deliver some real environmental and financial savings through the ecoBiz program.

Dracula's, a member of Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland, heard about the program at a networking breakfast in April. Less than eight weeks later, in conjunction with their Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland facilitator, they had a completed action plan submitted. > Read more.
