The change in Modern Awards that took effect on 1 January 2010 condensed thousands of awards across Australia into 122 Modern Awards.
Transitional arrangements are now in place for most Modern Awards. As of July 1 2010, rates of pay, penalties/loadings and some allowances will come into effect, subject to the transitional arrangements of the particular Modern Award.
