CCIQ successful in tender to deliver new youth initiative
4 February
Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has today announced they have been chosen to deliver the School Business Community Partnership Brokers Program, designed to improve education and transition outcomes for young people in Queensland in six regions across the state.
The Partnership Brokers program is an initiative of the Australian Government to foster a strategic, whole of community approach to developing strategies to improve education and opportunities for young people and to address current and future skills needs.
CCIQ State Program Manager Bronwyn Dallow said the program would achieve this by establishing sustainable partnerships between education and training providers, business and industry, parents and family groups and community groups.
"CCIQ is calling on key stakeholder groups across Queensland to nominate to provide input into the program," Ms Dallow said.
"The participation of stakeholder groups in this partnership program is integral to its success.
"Drawing on the knowledge of existing local stakeholders will help us develop strategies that address current and future skills needs and regional issues."
Stakeholders will be invited to participate in opportunities to improve education and transition outcomes (including employment) for young people and will receive information about the partnership program in their region.
"The program will also help to build the capacity for stakeholders to become self-sufficient, creating and maintaining partnerships in their local communities that continue to focus on youth education and training," Ms Dallow said.
CCIQ will deliver the program in the south west, central west, north west, northern, Fitzroy and Mackay regions of Queensland under the banner of YouthInvest.

The Partnership Brokers program is funded by the Commonwealth of Australia as represented by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations.
