Move Safe - It's your body
The Move Safe training program is a highly interactive and practical manual task training program tailored specifically to the needs of the workplace.
Wherever workers perform jobs containing risks from manual tasks, the employer has a legal requirement to provide training to those workers. Strain/sprain injuries are the single most frequent injury type in Queensland workplaces and are becoming more frequent.
This course will not only meet the employer's legal obligations to provide manual task training to workers, but will also reduce the frequency and severity of strain/sprain injuries experienced by workers.
Why MoveSafe?
MoveSafe is different to other manual handling programs as the program is:
- delivered by experienced physiotherapists and occupational therapists
- focused on empowering workers to take ownership of their own safety
- tailored to the specific manual tasks of the workplace
- highly interactive, including a number of experiential learning activities
- based on simple principles reinforced throughout the program for maximum retention
- based on the latest physiotherapy and safety thinking principles, including core stability activation as well as safety attitudes training.
Delivery
The course is typically two hours in duration and is conducted on site. The program is fully customised to address the manual tasks of the workplace. Prior to the first session, the therapist will inspect the workplace.
Options
The duration of the course can be lengthened to include additional content such as using seated computer workstations. An abridged one hour version of the program can also be delivered (the shorter version has reduced workplace specific content and less risk management activities). The competency of individuals can be assessed by the therapist at their workstation on completion of the training for an additional fee.
