Changes to Water Efficiency Management Plan reporting
October 2009
Queensland businesses currently operating under an approved Water Efficiency Management Plan (WEMP) should be aware of recent changes that have recently been made to the ongoing WEMP reporting process.
Under the old reporting system, each business operating under an approved Water Efficiency Management Plan was required to submit a quarterly WEMP report to council at the end of each reporting quarter and an annual report at the completion of each reporting year.
The reporting process has now been simplified.
Each business operating under an approved Water Efficiency Management Plan will now need to report to council on an annual basis only, with reports due for submission before the end of October each year.
The first annual report is due for submission by the end of this month.
Penalties apply to those businesses that do not comply with legislative reporting requirements.
CCIQ'S Business Sustainability team is currently helping businesses across Queensland fulfil their WEMP reporting obligations, ensuring reports are completed and submitted on time and without error.
