Safe Work Australia Week 2009

Did you know that every year approximately 100 Queenslanders die and 30,000 are seriously injured requiring a week off work as a result of a workplace incident?

Workplace Health & Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is holding events for Safe Work Australia Week from 25 to 31 October to raise awareness and importance of worker health and safety. Work safe. Home safe.

Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland and WHSQ have teamed up to host two key events during the week:

  • Healthier and Safer Workers Information Session

What can you do for Safe Work Australia Week? It's as easy as taking a break, taking a breath, taking a look or taking a minute for health and safety.

Use the week as a catalyst to making you and your workplace healthier and safer. As a state, let's get involved 'boots and all' with the rest of Australia to make workplace health and safety everybody's focus.

There are two ways you can get involved:

  1. Participate in one of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland's many activities across Queensland.
  2. Run an activity or event in your own workplace - it's easy. You can register your activity at www.worksafe.qld.gov.au.
