Developing technology and workforces

A South East Queensland technology development business has developed their workforce strategies for the immediate and long-term through Business Chamber Queensland’s Workforce Evolve program.

Gap Geophysics (GapGeo) is a progressive technology developer and service provider to the mineral exploration and environmental geophysics industries.

The team of about 36 includes a committed group of geophysicists and engineers with more than 30 years’ experience in the development of advanced survey instrumentation and techniques.

GapGeo has been a Business Chamber Queensland member for more than 10 years.

GapGeo Administration and Logistics Officer Hereadae Fenton-Smith said the Workforce Evolve program was an opportunity for the business to discover new ways bring value and contribution to the team.

“The course provided us a great overview of the elements to consider when reviewing current employee recruitment and retention practices and opportunities to learn new skills and interests while developing existing ones,” Hereadae said.

“We were interested in learning more about employee recruitment and retention strategies to enhance current practices.

“At the same time we were aware a diverse and inclusive workplace was linked to improved business outcomes and team engagement and wellbeing.”

Hereadae said the program was a well-constructed, relevant course to upskill and equip the business on how to approach and implement beneficial workforce strategies.

“There was flexible delivery with coaching support – I would definitely recommend this course.”
