2Families Cairns Pty Ltd
Senior Helpers was founded in the US by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. From their experience, Tony and Peter saw a huge gap that was not being filled properly by other companies providing care for the elderly in their area. They found that either they couldn’t get companies to answer their phones, or the companies lacked the level of professionalism that they expected.
Together, Tony and Peter set out to create an organisation that would be a trusted leader in senior care, and that would provide the level of professionalism they found to be lacking at the time. The first Senior Helpers office opened in Baltimore in 2002.
From that point, the franchise Senior Helpers grew in the US, now with over 300 offices in the US, Canada and Australia.
Senior Helpers opened in Australia in 2011 based on the US model. It has grown and developed over time so that in 2018, we have evolved to develop an Australian version of the fundamental US model. In doing so, the integral heart and philosophy of Senior Helpers remains.
