Leading Brisbane businesswoman re-appointed CCIQ President

Wednesday 30 November, 2016

Leading Brisbane businesswoman Theresa Moltoni OAM has been re-appointed President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ).

Ms Moltoni, the Managing Director of IRIQ, will serve as CCIQ President for the next three years after a highly successful 12 months in the role. Ms Moltoni has been a member of the CCIQ Board of Directors since August 2014.

She initially founded her company IRIQ in 2008 as a part-time consulting business. IRIQ is a national professional services firm that specialises in Industrial Relations consultancy, advice, advocacy and training.

Ms Moltoni’s extensive career, which spans more than 25 years, covers a wide range of high-level executive roles in a number of industry sectors. These roles have encompassed Human Resources, Industrial Relations and CEO responsibilities.

Because of Ms Moltoni’s exceptional leadership over the past year, CCIQ is in a strong position to build on its apolitical platform and work hard on behalf of the state’s 410,000 small businesses in the lead-up to the next Queensland State Election.

The announcement of Ms Moltoni’s re-appointment as Director and President was made at CCIQ’s AGM held in Brisbane yesterday, which was well-attended by Queensland small business owners.

Ms Moltoni’s strong leadership as President has been pivotal as CCIQ approaches its 150-year anniversary and small businesses more than ever seek guidance and direction, and business-friendly policies from all political parties at all levels of government.

Ms Moltoni said she was honoured to be re-appointed to the role of President of CCIQ at a time when there were significant challenges and prospects for the small business community.

“I am delighted to be serving the Queensland business community for a further three years,” she said.

Ms Moltoni will also serve as a Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and as Chair of the ACCI Workplace Health and Safety, and Workers’ Compensation Policy Committee.

Ms Moltoni was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in honour of service to Industrial Relations in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
