Support welcome in uncertain time
Payroll tax deferment is a welcome relief for SMEs impacted by the coronavirus, especially as the most recent Suncorp-CCIQ Pulse survey shows business conditions are the worst on record.
Today’s announcement by Deputy Premier and Treasurer Jackie Trad will allow small to medium business across any sector impacted by the coronavirus to defer their payroll tax for six-months.
CCIQ’s General Manager of Advocacy and Policy, Amanda Rohan said this package is the tangible support business needs.
“Our December quarter Pulse report has revealed we are seeing the worst business conditions on record and that was the sentiment before the coronavirus hit,” Ms Rohan said.
“This payroll tax deferment will give financial relief and allow business to keep operating through this uncertain time.
“As we lead into the State Budget and during this election year, now is the time for the Government to be supporting business and creating policies that will positively impact our economy and support our communities.”
