Winter Holidays To Warm Up Queensland's Frozen Economy: CCIQ
Winter holidays will bring joy and relief to businesses across the state said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ)
CCIQ along with Chambers across Queensland have been calling for the easing of intrastate travel in time for the winter school holidays and welcomes the news today.
Amanda Rohan, CCIQ's general manager of advocacy and policy said this will be a lifetime to many struggling businesses as last week's data, released by CCIQ highlighted the importance of intrastate travellers, and how would be a lifeline to many struggling businesses throughout Queensland.
“This is absolutely fantastic news, and we appreciate the Palasczuck Government being responsive as the situation has evolved,” Ms Rohan said.
“Lifting travel restrictions within Queensland means we can start planning on seeing our friends and family and taking the opportunity to explore our beautiful state.
“Most importantly, people need to #supportsmall when they book. This is a time to get out and about, explore areas of Queensland while backing small businesses, who are the real drivers of our economy and hugely important employers.
“Today’s additional easing of patron numbers and being responsive allowing larger venues who can host more visitors in larger areas to do so is also very welcome news.
“We all want Queensland back in business and to stay in business. This is a big step in the recovery of our state’s economy, but there is a long way to go.
“We look forward to continuing to work with the government to implement and progress more of the priorities we have outlined in our transformational stimulus roadmap,” said Ms Rohan.
