The Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland (CCIQ) welcomes another highly experienced business leader on to the Board of Directors.

The board, which is responsible for the long term strategic direction of CCIQ and corporate governance, has announced the appointment of Neil Glentworth.

With a background in data, digital technology and innovation, and a motivation to unlock the potential of an organisation by harnessing what it understands, Neil Glentworth established Brisbane-based information management firm Glentworth in 2007.

Now with 40 staff, it is a Queensland start-up success story.

Mr Glentworth said his company specialises in understanding business challenges and solving them through galvanising data, information and knowledge holdings within any given organisation.

For the past five years Neil has helped a range of Australian organisations in the private, public and non-for-profit sectors harness knowledge and information to run their operations more competitively.

“We are driven by taking organisations’ data and information and translating that into tangible value, making a company more adaptable, client-focussed and responsive to changes in the market,” Mr Glentworth said.

In 2012, Neil was awarded the Queensland Pearcey Award for his contribution to the Information and Technology industry. He is a former Army Officer, having served globally in a senior leadership role.

Glentworth was recognised in 2012 through the Start-Up Smart Awards as one of the top 15 fastest-growing businesses. Coupled with a 2012 BRW Fast Starters rank, the industry award validated Glentworth’s market standing in Australia.

CCIQ President and Far North Queensland Policy Chair Brett Moller was delighted with the news.

“I welcome the appointment of Neil Glentworth to the CCIQ board. Neil brings a wealth of experience in the brave new world of data, digital technology and innovation,” Mr Moller said.

“He will help CCIQ as we transition into new forms of technology and new products to help our members in today’s very competitive business environment.”
