Queensland business needs an Economic Recovery Plan

Wednesday 5 August, 2020

We understand the decision to close Queensland’s borders to NSW and the ACT has been made based on health advice.

This decision will have an impact on business, especially for those who rely on interstate travellers, and we know how tough conditions are and continue to be for those sectors.  We will continue advocating for the additional stimulus and support that they so desperately need in these tumultuous times.

Businesses are at the front line of the health crisis, and the economic recovery is dependent on industry being supported to enable them to operate and keep people in jobs.

Our priority is to support all businesses in Queensland, allowing them to remain open and operating. For that to be possible, it is now critical for the Palaszczuk Government to provide its Economic Recovery Plan.

CCIQ has been asking for a plan, and we will be keeping the pressure on as it’s crucial to provide business with certainty in knowing what the forward plan is.

CCIQ has provided the Government with a plan to revive and rebuild our economy and now is the time to see that actioned further. View the plan here.

To help Queensland’s economy now, we strongly encourage everyone to keep getting out and supporting local small businesses so that we can keep our economy moving and keep Queenslander’s in jobs.
