Queensland Jobs Breakdown 2018
Queensland is a big state, and the State’s job creation is not consistent across regions. Some parts of the state are doing well, some are performing about average, while others are performing poorly.
Trend regional employment data from ConusCBC Staff Selection shows the majority of employment growth over 2018 was in South East Queensland, which added about 31,000 jobs, and 24,400 of these were on the Gold Coast.
On the other hand, regional Queensland saw little growth in total.
Fitzroy added around 6,200, Cairns around 3,100, Darling Downs and Toowoomba around 2,300 each, while Mackay saw a decrease of over 18,000 jobs on a trend basis.
