Statement on the Passing of Former Queensland Resource Council Chief Executive, Michael Roche

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has issued a statement of condolence to the family of Michael Roche, former Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Resource Council who passed away on Tuesday night.

CCIQ CEO, Stephen Tait said Mr Roche was a staunch advocate for the mining and resources sector and left behind a lasting legacy.

“Michael Roche’s legacy not only included 11 years of leading Queensland’s peak industry body for the minerals and energy sector in Queensland, but as a passionate advocate for his industry and Queensland businesses.”

“We are all shocked and saddened by his sudden passing. All round, he was a great bloke who will be sorely missed by everyone who had the good fortune to meet him”

“On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland and all of our members, I would like to express our deep condolences to the Roche family at this time,” Mr Tait said.
