As a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) for Queensland, CCIQ provides advice to the Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs) on the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) (SESR visa) in the Employer Sponsored (ES) stream.
Your SESR Direct Entry stream nominations must be accompanied by advice from an RCB (this can be before or after you lodge with Home Affairs). However, Home Affairs cannot approve your nominations without advice from the relevant RCB.
We're here to help
The role of a RCB is to provide advice to the Department on the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494) (SESR visa) in the Employer Sponsored (ES) stream applications, using local area knowledge to advise on whether the nominee for the position will be paid at least the annual market salary rate for the occupation.
ES stream nominations must be accompanied by advice from an RCB; however, this advice can be provided before or after lodgement of the ES stream nomination application with the Department of Home Affairs. The Department cannot approve a nomination where advice from an RCB has not been provided.
Departmental decision makers will assess ES stream nominations against a range of criteria, including but not limited to those that RCBs provide advice on. Local knowledge about businesses operating in the specific RCB’s jurisdiction adds value to the assessment process.
RCBs must provide their assessment advice within 28 days of receipt of the request.
CCIQ RCB locations
CCIQ is responsible for servicing Queensland regional locations including Cairns, Gold Coast, Mackay, Rockhampton, Emerald, Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay & Burnett (including Bundaberg), Toowoomba and Townsville.
Employer nominations must be considered by an RCB located in the same state or territory where the nominated position exists. It is our responsibility to ensure that requests relate to a position within its jurisdiction in the relevant state or territory and that the position is within the nominating business.
