Back to business for Greater Brisbane :CCIQ
Greater Brisbane businesses look forward to welcoming customers back from 6 pm tonight when the three-day lockdown officially ends said the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ).
The last three days created many operational and financial implications for business across the region, but once again they have shown their resilience said CCIQ’s gm advocacy and policy general manager Amanda Rohan.
“There’s been a lot of uncertainty over the weekend, and not just for business in the Greater Brisbane region,” said Ms Rohan.
“While the shutdown and operational changes for businesses in Greater Brisbane had immediate impacts, there’s the knock-on effects which affect business confidence more broadly too.
“To help overcome this latest set- back, we strongly encourage everyone to get back out and support their local businesses, while acknowledging there are now additional precautions in place- including the requirement of wearing masks at certain venues.
“The re-instigation of patron limits will continue to impact venues, especially as it’s still the summer school holidays, which is a crucial trading period.
“But it’s important to get out and support local venues. Consumers and customers need to know that businesses have COVIDsafe plans and practices in place, as they have always done, and they take them seriously.
“What needs to happen now, is to know how we can prevent any future immediate shutdowns to avoid this uncertainty again, ” Ms Rohan said.
