Webinar: Understanding Gender Pay Gap Reforms

Join us for the 'Understanding Gender Pay Gap Reforms' webinar, that will provide you with information about changes to business requirements for gender pay gaps reporting.

The Workplace Gender Equality Amendment (Closing the Gender Pay Gap) Bill 2023 was passed on 30 March 2023. The Bill’s focus is to accelerate gender equality in the workplace. The webinar will discuss:

  • what the reforms are,
  • when they are coming into effect, and
  • how it will impact Queensland businesses like yours.

The Gender Pay Gap reform will apply to private businesses with 100 or more employees and Commonwealth public sector businesses with 100 or more employees.

Some of the changes include:

  • Data collected in WGEA reports indicate that employers may not be following up on their actions to address the gender pay gaps.
  • Improved transparency, accountability and employer action to accelerate gender equality in the workplace.
  • From early 2024, WGEA will publish gender pay gaps for public and private sector employers.
  • From April 2024, reporting on sexual harassment, harassment on the grounds of sex or discrimination will be mandatory.
  • From April 2024, any employers with 500 or more employees must implement a policy or strategy for each of the six-gender equality indicators

We look forward to seeing you at our webinar to discuss impact of these important changes on your business.
